Tips from Real Swingers

Great information for all levels and types of swingers

  • Go at your own pace, slow is fine! It’s better to wish you had, than it is to wish you hadn’t. It’s happened too many times when a couple dives in too deep into the lifestyle, like ignoring your regular lives or primary relationships, and blow past any rules or agreements. This can ultimately make your lifestyle experience flame-out quickly.

  • Take a break if you need one because the lifestyle will always be there when you come back.

  • Go to events with no expectations.

  • Do not drink too much at events.

  • If you’re part of a couple, make sure you always go as slow as the slowest person.

  • Communicate, communicate, communicate.

  • Do not change rules or boundaries in the middle of a play session.

  • Rules will change as you learn, grow and evolve. Be open to talking about it.

  • Each person in a couple should have a veto card to play without argument. Although, sometimes a later explanation may be good for both of you to learn from.

  • If you don’t agree or understand someone else’s rules, leave it alone. It is not your place to question.

  • Openly communicate. You will make mistakes, be forgiving, and remember your relationship is more important than the lifestyle.

  • A rejection of you (or indifference to you) is NOT an insult or rejection of you as a person and cannot be taken personally. Be gracious and allow your fellow swingers to honestly interact with you and others with no expectations or pressure, which should be the goal of everyone.

  • The harder it seems to talk about something, the more it needs to be talked about immediately.

  • Be polite and respectful always!

  • Ask before touching anyone!

  • Talk openly and calmly after parties or if urgent, privately, during a party.

  • Be realistic. There will be bumps in the road along the way. Count on it! You both need to commit to talking about things before, during and after scenarios.

  • Have fun! If it’s not fun anymore, step back, evaluate what’s important and go from there.
